  1. Have you ever double-clicked on a document on a CD-ROM, and had to wait while the Finder launched the application from the CD also?  LaunchTrick fixes that annoyance.  It patches DTGetAppl so that when an application exists on the boot volume, the Finder can't find it anywhere else.
